I’m a homeowner and small-scale real estate investor with more than 15 years of experience in managing my own properties. Over the years, I’ve rented out apartments, houses, condos, and most frequently rooms in my own home. I’m in my forties, female, never married, and parent to one teenaged daughter.

My home right now is on the west side of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the United States. The property is what I like to call a “bitsy house”: big enough to live in comfortably, but not excessive. The three-room house has been a very successful money-maker for me, and I’ve also found that being a landlord has been excellent preparation for other kinds of business ventures and also for parenting.

I speak my mind and don’t sugarcoat the facts. Sometimes the language I use is very blunt. If I think a particular behavior is stupid, self-destructive, or short-sighted, I say so. Also, I don’t mind pointing at excellence but I’m also not afraid to talk about the bad stuff, or to laugh a bit at my own mistakes.
